~ Circa 1965 Pair Of West German Luftwaffe Lieutenant Uniforms ~
This is a set of German uniforms dated to approximately the mid 60’s. One uniform is the Grundform des Dienstanzugs Luftwaffe, the basic service uniform of the West German Air Force that includes the jacket, trousers, peaked cap and all medals awarded to the owner. This uniform is a deep air force blue with silver and yellow piping, silver buttons denoting a West German Officer and the air force insignia.
The second uniform is the white variant, a summer officer’s uniform or a hot weather tropical uniform, this comes with the jacket and peaked cap. The jacket is open towards the collar, white and has silver buttons, the cap is also the white variant.
The West German basic uniform is that of a First Lieutenant and has the American Expert Marksman badge with Pistol and Rifle clasps. The set was dated using this medal, the American stamp on the rear is for N.S. MEYER INC, with identifying marks that put it roughly mid 60’s.
