A decorative Third Reich period blue glass presentation vase commemorating the SA-Wehrkampftage (SA Military Defence Competition Days) held at Hameln in 1942. The vase is formed in translucent turquoise-blue glass with an elegant baluster profile, flared rim, and spreading circular foot, highlighted throughout with gilt band decoration to the rim, neck, and base.

To the front is an applied circular gilt badge inscribed “HAMELN / SA-Wehrkampftage / 1942” surrounding the official SA emblem of downward-pointing sword over swastika within an oakleaf wreath. The reverse shows the translucent backing of the applied medallion visible through the glass body.

Such commemorative presentation pieces were produced for regional SA military sporting and preparedness events organised during the Second World War. These Wehrkampftage combined athletic competition, military-style exercises, and propaganda displays intended to reinforce physical fitness, discipline, and wartime morale on the German home front. Presentation glassware of this type was commonly awarded to organisers, participants, guests, or local officials connected with the event.

The vase displays attractive period styling characteristic of late 1930s–1940s German decorative presentation glass, with its vivid blue colouring and restrained gilt embellishment lending it a strong display presence.

Surviving locally-issued commemorative presentation items from specific regional events are notably scarcer than more commonly encountered printed propaganda material such as postcards or stamps.

Good overall condition for age. The glass body remains free from major cracks or chips observed externally, with only light surface wear and minor manufacturing inclusions visible under close inspection. The gilt banding remains well preserved with only minor age-related rubbing in places. The applied gilt event badge remains clear and visually strong.
