~ Meissen Small Magpie Bird A286 ~
A charming Meissen Magpie, resting on a tree stump with applied floral details in naturalistic colours.
The first magpie pattern was modelled by J.C. Kaendler in 1733.
The model ‘A286’, was made after 1934. It is stamped on the underside with the model number, the Meissen blue cross swords trade mark and artists number 1240.
This is the ‘Left’ model.
~ Dimensions ~
The model is 8 inches (20.4 cm) tall and 4.2 inches (10.8 cm).
It weighs 155 grams.
~ Condition ~
The magpie has had professional restoration work on the beak tip organised by ourselves.
Aside from that the condition is excellent.
The stamps are clearly visible.
