Vietnam War Shell Dinner Gong

This is a trench art piece from the Vietnam War. It is dated 1955-1956 and comes with a hammer and gong made out of shell. The shell that was used to make the gong is a 40mm Mk2 round which would have been fired from a Bofors gun. It is mounted on a wooden plaque with a pin to hang the striker.
