The gilt brass plaque was the Indian naval anchor and crown set over a blue background with a roped border bearing the institutions name. There is a blank plaque beneath. It is mounted on a black wooden board with an easel stand behind.

The piece is in good order with minimal wear.

The board is 20 cm (8 inches) tall and 14 cm (5.5 inches) wide.
