~ 12 Inch Mahogany Wall Wire Fusee Clock By W.J. Murray Ltd c.1880 ~
A lovely late Victorian mahogany 12 inch wall clock by the London retailer W.J. Murray Ltd.
The clock has a white painted dial with Roman numeral hours an outer minutes ring and two black painted steel hands.
The dial reads ‘W.J. Murray Ltd, 25 Leadenhall St, E.C.3’.
It is set within a circular mahogany surround with a hinged glazed door to the front.
The case has the traditional salt box to the reverse to house the movement. The salt box is held in place with four wood pegs and has two doors, one to
the side and one below, to access the movement.
The clock has an English square plate single wire fusee 8 day movement.
It is complete with key.

The clock has a diameter of 36cm (14 inches) and a depth of 15cm (6 inches).
It weighs 5Kg.
~ Condition ~
The dial has a few small age marks and the ‘EC3’ part of the writing is faded but otherwise the dial is in a very good condition with no chips or
The mahogany surround has a few small knocks but again is otherwise in a very good condition with no major damages.
The salt box is in good order but one of the pegs is a little loose..
The clock has been service and is in good working order.
