Description

The eight shaped flanges are attached to the head, which narrows into a large & intimidating protruding spike. The barley twist shaft spins onto the tangs & guard which still retains the silver and gold koftgari script decorations which continue along onto the pommel and extended grip.

The guard is padded with fine woven silk.

~ Dimensions ~

The mace has a length of 34.5 inches (90.2 cm). It weighs 1.62 kg.

~ Condition ~

The flanges are largely rusted, as well as along the shaft & very lightly on the pommel. The silver & gilt is worn in areas, particularly along the grip, but remains largely present. The fabric padding is in excellent condition.

ref. GS425556A
