    Description

~ 1950’s 18 Ct Gold & Palladium Flower Brooch Inc. Diamonds, Emeralds, Sapphires Etc. ~

A stunning 18 carat yellow gold & palladium brooch in the shape of a bunch of flowers set with an array of various precious and semi- precious stones.

The flowers are formed of 6 sapphires (five dark blue and one light blue), 3 emeralds, 3 peridots, 5 rubies, 3 citrines and 2 aquamarines, all mounted in 18ct gold.

The flower bunch is tied with a bow of palladium mounted with approximately 56 sparkling baguette and brilliant cut diamonds.

The brooch is stamped on the back :-

    ’18 ct PALLAD:’

We purchased this piece from a lady who bought in new in the 1950’s, apparently it cost the same price as a car back then and her insurance valuation was around £4,500.

    ~ Dimensions ~

The diamonds have various sizes (from 0.02 ct to 0.1 ct). We estimate the total weight of the diamonds to be 3.25 carat.

    The total weight of the sapphires is approx. 1.1 ct (2 x 0.25; 2 x 0.13 ct;
    2 x 0.10 ct; 1 x 0.15 ct).

The total weight of the emeralds is approx. 0.3 ct (1 x 0.20 ct; 1 x 0.10 ct).

The total weight of the peridots is approx. 0.7 ct (2 x 0.25 ct; 2 x 0.10 ct).

    The total weight of the ruby’s is approx. 0.7 ct (2 x 0.20 ct; 3 x 0.10 ct).

    The total weight of the citrine’s is approx. 0.45 ct (1 x 0.20 ct; 1 x 0.15; 1 x 0.10 ct).

The total weight of the aquamarine is approx. 0.40 ct (2 x 0.20 ct).

The brooch is 2.4 inches (6cm) tall by 1.2 inches (3cm) wide.

The total weight is 13.5 grams.

    ~ Condition ~

The brooch is in very good condition and it looks gorgeous when worn.

The stones have a wonderful sparkle.

This is certainly a top quality brooch.
