*Belgian, Cold War Dated 1989, A.B.L. (Armée Belge / Belgisch Leger) Army Blue Beret with Pugnantes Adjuvo Corps Badge, Preta, Size 59*
An original Belgian Army (A.B.L. – Armée Belge / Belgisch Leger) blue wool beret, complete with its fitted gilt metal cap badge and clearly dated to 1989. Manufactured by Preta, this is a well-preserved Cold War period example retaining both its internal markings and correct mounted insignia.
The beret is constructed from dense blue wool with a black leather sweatband and stitched edge binding. The interior retains a clear ink stamp within a diamond cartouche reading:
“A.B.L. / preta / 1989 / mitin / 59”
Fitted to the front is a gilt metal Belgian military badge featuring a crowned cogwheel flanked by two lions, with the motto scroll reading “PUGNANTES ADJUVO” (“I assist those who fight”). This badge is associated with Belgian Army support and technical services, particularly logistics and maintenance-related corps.
The beret is size 59 (approx. 59 cm head circumference) and remains well-shaped, with the badge securely mounted.

Very good overall condition. The wool body retains strong colour and shape with only light handling wear. Leather sweatband intact and supple. Interior stamp remains clear and legible.
