~ Boxed Dinky Toys 602 Gerry Anderson’s Armoured Command Car ~
Designed by Gerry Anderson, creator of Thunderbirds, the 602 Armoured Command Car, produced 1976-1977, was one of two vehicles that were based on props used in Anderson’s ‘The Investigator’ television show.
The series, produced in 1973, got as far as a pilot but was never actually transmitted on TV.
The car features ‘Power Operated Tracer Projector and Scanner’, or in real terms it has a rotating aerial and fires sparks from the front powered by a clockwork motor within.
The model comes in its original picture card box.
~ Dimensions ~
The model has a length of 15cm (6 inches).
~ Condition ~
The model is missing a small towing strap which should be attached to the bonnet, but is otherwise complete.
The clockwork mechanism is in good working order though no sparks are emitted (most likely there was a flint inside which has worn down with time).
The model is in very good condition, with no damage and very little wear.
The box is in very good order, with just a few pen marks and a small shiny patch where there was once a price sticker attached.
