~ Boxed Pre-War Dinky No. 60r Empire Flying Boat Corsair 1937-1940 ~
This is a lovely pre-war Dinky model of an Empire Flying Boat.
There were various editions made with different liveries, this is the Corsair version.
This model was produced from 1937 until 1940.
The model is silver with four red tinplate propellers and a red plastic roller.
It has the registration number 'G-A DVB' on the wings.
To the underside of the plane it is stamped ‘Dinky Toys, Empire Flying Boat, Made in England by Meccano Ltd’.
The model comes with the correct original box but it does not fit in the box, we assume that the wings were glued one afterwards.
~ Dimensions ~
The plane has a wingspan of 6 ½ inches (16.5cm) and is 5 inches (13cm) from nose to tail. It weighs 74g.
The box measures 5 inches (12.75cm) square and with a depth of 1 ¼ inch (3.25cm).
The model and box together weigh 120g.
~ Condition ~
The model is in fair condition with some fatigue and glue repairs.
The box is in fair order with a water stain, a small hole in the side and some fading.
