*British, Post WW2, HM Submarine Affray – Original Photograph*
Original Photograph of WW1 Submarine Affray along with a photocopy of a newspaper article: Shipping October 1990 "The Wreck of the Affray". This photograph and article originally formed part of the Lou Britton British Submarine Collection, which was acquired by the Royal Navy Submarine Museum, Gosport in 2007.

HMS Affray was a British Amphion-class submarine built in the final stages of World War II for service in the Pacific. Commissioned in 1945, she featured a modular design, an all-welded hull, and ten torpedo tubes.
Transferred to the 3rd Submarine Flotilla, Affray participated in global exercises before being retrofitted with a snort mast in 1949. In April 1951, during Exercise Spring Train, she disappeared in the English Channel with 75 crew members.
A massive search effort located her wreck two months later near Alderney. Investigations suggested a failure in the snort mast or possible flooding as the cause. The wreck remains a war grave, protected under the Protection of Military Remains Act.
