Description

*British, Tower 1799 Pattern Dragoon Flintlock Pistol, Obsolete Calibre*

With plain barrel and tang struck with Tower proofs, flat lock with GR crowned (King George III, King of England 1760-1801) and what looks like a small Crown 2 to the right of the large crown and TOWER across the tail, figured walnut full-stock with apron around tang, stamped with inspection marks on the barrel - Crown over Crossed Sceptres. It has regulation pattern brass mounts at the butt cap, side plate, ramrod plate and the trigger guard, the latter with additional regimental markings "B.1".

A fine piece of Napoleonic history. This pattern is thought to be the last variant of the Light Dragoon before the New Land Pattern was introduced as the standard for the British Army.

*Condition*
Good used condition. The pistol has a wonderful patina. Trigger is stiff but cocks and dry-fires. Missing the ramrod. Some damage around the lock plate. Please see photographs as part of the condition report.
