*British (US Made), WW1, Remington 1913 Pattern Bayonet, Dated June 1916*
An excellent example of the British Pattern 1913 bayonet, produced under contract by Remington in the USA and dated June 1916. This pattern was introduced for the Pattern 1914 rifle and later used with the US M1917 rifle.
The ricasso is clearly marked "1913 6 16" over the circular "Remington" stamp, confirming the June 1916 manufacture. The reverse ricasso bears the British broad arrow War Department acceptance mark, crown over E inspection stamps, and "X" bend-test proof. Crown over E confirms this bayonet was inspected and accepted into British service at Enfield. This is quite typical for Remington-made 1913 bayonets.
The blade is the classic long, straight, single fullered type, measuring approximately 43cm (17 inches) with an overall length of about 55cm (21.5 inches). The edge is in very good condition with no nicks.
The hilt features its original wooden grips with twin grooves, secured by two screws. The steel crossguard has the correct large muzzle ring, and the beaked steel pommel is fitted with a working press-stud catch mechanism.
The wood grips show honest service wear and some darkening but remain solid with no cracks. The steel surfaces have an even patina and some age-related speckling and light oxidation, typical of a genuine WW1 field-used piece.

Blade in good condition with clear markings and no nicks to the edge. Crossguard and pommel with light surface oxidation and patina. Wood grips intact, no cracks, showing expected age-related marks. Press-stud catch mechanism operates correctly.
