~ c1910 Carl Thieme Dresden Porcelain Fruit And Flower Seller Figurines ~
A lovely pair of circa 1910 Dresden porcelain figurines of flower sellers.
Sächsische Porzellanmanufaktur Dresden (Saxon Porcelain Manufactory in Dresden), often known in English simply as Dresden Porcelain, was a porcelain factory in Freital near Dresden, Germany which was founded in 1872 by Carl-Johann Gottlob Thieme.
These pieces date to the period when Thiemes son in law, Karl August Kuntsch had taken over the business following Thiemes death in 1888.
The two figurines depict young men selling flowers.
The white porcelain figures are painted in colours with gilt detailing.
Both are marked to the underside with the ‘SP Dresden’ which was used from 1902.
One is marked ‘83’ and stamped ‘E1002Y’, the other is marked ‘68’ and stamped ‘G156D’
~ Dimensions ~
The figures both stand at approximately 14cm (5 ½ inches).
Together they weigh 337g.
~ Condition ~
Both figures are in a lovely condition with no apparent damages.
