This is a scarce American figurehead dating back to the 16th century BC. It is the head of a statue or bust manufactured in the technique specific to that age where the back of the statue is flat. It is of carved stone, not clay.

Most of these statues represented the local gods or common people in different poses. The figureheads were also used to decorate vases and mugs.

~ Dimensions ~

The figurehead is 3 inches (7.7 cm) tall, 2.75 inches (7 cm) wide and 1.57 inches (4 cm) deep.

It weighs 135 grams.
