~ Circa 1775 Worcester Tea Cup And Saucer ~
The blue and white pieces have a floral centre and floral banded rims. Both the cup and saucer have gently fluted bodies.
Cups from around 1775 transitioned from handless tea bowls in the Chinese taste to the familiar pattern we used today.
Both bear the Worcester mark crescent back stamp.
~ Condition ~
The cup has several nibbles on the underside from standing wear. Otherwise, both pieces are in excellent order.
~ Dimensions ~
The cup is 7 cm (2.75 inches) in diameter and 5 cm (2 inches) tall.
The saucer is13 cm (5.25 inches) in diameter and 2.5 cm (1 inch) tall.
