~ Circa 1900 Filled Gold Frame Spectacles With Original Case ~
A lovely pair of antique oval shape eyeglasses with filled 10Ct gold frame & nose bridge and wire arms curled at the end.
The nose bridge is stamped '10 Filled'.
The glasses are held within the original case stamped to the front:
'Rastrick & Son, Opticians To The Portsmouth Yen ey?, Southsea'
~ Dimensions ~
The lenses are 1.5 inches (4cm) wide and 1.25 inches (3cm) high. The width of the frame is 4.5 inches (11.5cm). Each wire arm is approx. 6.5 inches (16.5cm) long when fully extended.
The case is 6.75 inches (17cm) long by 1.5 inches (4cm) wide.
The total weight is 50 grams.
~ Condition ~
The glass has some scratches and minor surface wear. The wire arms are slightly deformed. The case is worn but shuts tight.
