Description

~ Dinky No. 152 - Royal Tank Corps Light Tank Unit ~

The set was produced between 1937 and 1941.

The set is composed of three cast metal vehicles: a Light Tank (Dinky no. 152a), an Austin Seven Car (Dinky no. 152c) and a Reconnaissance Car (Dinky no. 152b).

The vehicles colour is dark matt green and the chassis of the tank and reconnaissance car are also green.

The tank has a white triangular division sign on the turret side.

The underside of each vehicle reads:

'Dinky Toys Made in England by Meccano LTD'.

This set was made in Liverpool.

This set comes in its original blue box. The box retains its insert stand and opens from the front with a country side scene.

~ Dimensions ~

The light tank is 6.5 cm long by 3.5 cm wide and 3.5 cm high. The Austin Seven car is 5.5 cm long by 2.5 cm wide and 3 cm high. The reconnaissance car is 9 cm long by 3 cm wide and 3.5 cm high.

The box has a width of 10.5 inches (26.6 cm), a depth of 2.5 inches (6.3 cm) & a height of 2.5 inches (6.3 cm).

The set weighs 284 g.

~ Condition ~

The lid has a large amount of wear, some of the sides have lost most of the outer blue covering & one of the tabs is torn. There is also a pencil scribble inside. The edges of the inner stand are worn with some minor tearing and age wear. The vehicle's paint is worn but I cannot see any fatigue cracks. The tanks chain tracks are in good order. The reconnaissance car’s tyres have become slightly warped.
