Victorinox KL89 Dutch DAK Soldier Swiss Army Knife is a folding knife equipped with various tools: a bottle opener, wide flat screwdriver, flat awl, cap lifter, scraper/stripper, slotted screwdriver with a 90° detent, and a reamer/awl. Notably, Victorinox did not provide any keyrings or lanyard attachments.

In 1975, the second type was introduced, featuring four parts (the initial production had only three parts) and brass liners. The first two production years were 1975 and 1976, with no production in 1977. Subsequent years saw the release of KL78, KL79, KL80, KL81, and KL82. Amefa produced this series until 1982 and once more in 1984. A legal dispute arose between Victorinox and Amefa over patent evasion, leading Dutch Defense to exclusively purchase from Victorinox. From 1983, 1985-1992, Victorinox supplied the Model 1961 to the Royal Dutch Army (Koninklijke Landmacht), and in 1987, for one year, to the Royal Dutch Navy (Koninklijke Marine).

These Dutch knives, known as DAKs, closely resemble their Swiss counterparts, differing mainly in the inscription on the alox scales. Instead of a year-of-issue engraving on the blade’s tang, the DAK includes the abbreviation for the service branch (either KL or KM) along with the year of issue. Besides this, the DAK maintains silver Alox scales with the Swiss cross at the top, identical to Pioneer scales introduced during the same period.
