An original German Third Reich SS Model 1933 Dienstdolch (Service Dagger), manufactured during 1939 by the renowned Solingen maker Robert Klaas. The dagger bears both the standard RZM M7/37 manufacturer code together with the RZM 1051/39 SS contract marking to the ricasso, identifying it as a dagger produced under the SS procurement system during 1939. Robert Klaas was one of Solingen's best-regarded edged weapon manufacturers and produced comparatively limited numbers of SS dagers under these later RZM contracts.

The polished double-edged blade is etched with the famous SS motto "Meine Ehre heißt Treue" ("My Honour is Loyalty"), the standard inscription carried by SS service daggers. The motto remains deeply and crisply defined, while the blade retains an attractive bright finish with honest age-related staining, scattered spotting and light runner marks consistent with careful storage and handling over many decades.

The hilt retains its original black stained wooden grip inset with the enamel SS runic roundel to one side and the nickel-plated national eagle to the other. Both emblems remain well preserved, providing excellent visual contrast against the dark grip. The nickel-plated crossguards display an attractive mellow patina acquired through age, complementing the overall originality of the piece.

The dagger is housed in its original black-painted steel scabbard fitted with plated upper and lower mounts and retaining its original suspension ring. The scabbard displays an even aged finish with areas of expected surface wear and patination, giving the dagger an appealing untouched appearance.

The SS Model 1933 Dienstdolch was introduced shortly after the formation of the Schutzstaffel as the organisation's official dress sidearm. Inspired by the earlier SA dagger but distinguished by its black grip and unique motto, "Meine Ehre heißt Treue", it became one of the most recognisable edged weapons of the Third Reich.

By the late 1930s production had been standardised under the Reichszeugmeisterei (RZM), with manufacturers identified by coded markings rather than full factory trademarks. Robert Klaas of Solingen was among the approved makers contracted to produce these daggers, with the M7/37 maker code and 1051/39 SS contract number identifying examples manufactured under the 1939 procurement programme. Today, original SS daggers remain among the most collected German edged weapons of the Second World War, with complete, matching RZM-contract examples from established Solingen makers enjoying enduring collector interest.

The original black-painted steel scabbard retains its plated mounts and suspension ring and displays honest age-related finish loss, oxidation and patination commensurate with wartime manufacture and long-term storage.
