This is a second class Iron Cross medal, awarded to a member of the German Army during World War 2 for an act of bravery in battle or another military battlefield contribution. This medal comes with its original ribbon and retains most of its paintwork. The date 1939 represents the beginning of WW2 and the 1813 on the reverse was the year the award was created.
This iron cross is in great condition, retaining most of its paintwork. There is some loss to the finish on the swastika and very small patches of rust. The ribbon is also in great condition but is very slightly frayed at the top. Please see pictures for more detail.
