~ Givejoy Toys Skybirds 1/72nd Scale Aircraft No 5C Sopwith 5F.1 Dolphin ~
The model was constructed from a Givejoy Toys 1/72nd scale aircraft number 5c kit, part of the Skybirds series, the kit was issued between 1935 and 1945.
The hand constructed and painted model was constructed by the original vendor as a boy (between July 1935 & January 1942).
The wooden model is extremely detailed.
Quite an amazing example of early model making.
~ Sopwith 5f.1 Dolphin ~
The Sopwith 5F.1 Dolphin was a British fighter aircraft manufactured by the Sopwith Aviation Company. The Dolphin was armed with to synchronized Vickers machine guns and two crossbar mounted Lewis guns.
~ Dimensions ~
The plane is 4 inches (10.1 cm) long with a 5 ½ inch (12.7 cm) wingspan and is 2 inches (5.1 cm) tall. It weighs 15 grams.
~ Condition ~
All in very good order except one of the four machine guns is missing.
