~ Givejoy Toys Skybirds 1/72nd Scale Aircraft Roland D.II Made 1935-42 ~
The model was constructed from a Givejoy Toys 1/72nd scale aircraft kit, part of the Skybirds series, the kit was issued between 1935 and 1945.
The hand constructed and painted model was constructed by the original vendor as a boy (between July 1935 & January 1942).
The wooden model is extremely detailed.
The set is complete with the original instructions.
Quite an amazing example of early model making.
~ Roland D.II ~
The LFG Roland D.II was a German single-seat fighter of World War I. The type was manufactured by Luftfahrzeug Gesellschaft, and also by Pfalz Flugzeugwerke under license.
Nicknamed Haifisch (shark) for its sleek appearance, the D.II and D.IIa proved generally unpopular in service due to poor fields of view and heavy controls. It was quite fast and strong, but had mediocre manoeuvrability and handling.

The plane has a length of 4 inches (10 cm), a wingspan of 5 inches (13 cm) and a height of 1.75 inches (4.5 cm). It weighs 13 g.

The plane is in excellent condition.
