~ HMS Mary Rose Algerine Class Minesweeper Bronze Gun Tompion ~

The tompion, a gun muzzle cover, is of bronze and is now mounted on an oak plaque with a wall hanging slot.

HMS Mary Rose (J360) was an Algerine-class minesweeper launched in 1943 and broken up in 1957.

The tompion would have been fitted to her single QF 4 in (102 mm) Mk V anti-aircraft gun.

The wooden plaque is 14 cm (5.5 inches) wide and 18 cm (7 inches) tall.
