Description

This is a parade piece example of a Wilhelm II Era German Officer.

The rapier has a fullered blade decorated with various etchings which are quite faded.

The hilt is made of brass with a mother of pearl decorated grip and a eagle head shaped pommel.

The guard extension bears the embossed German eagle beneath the crown.

The blade is stamped with the manufacturer’s name ‘MOHR & SPEYER, Berlin’.

~ Dimensions ~

The blade length is 32 ½ inches (82.5 cm) and the overall length of the piece is 37 ½ inches (95 cm).

It weighs 600 grams.

~ Condition ~

The sword is in very good condition for its age.

As previously said the blade darkened and the etchings faded.

There is minor loss of gilt on the brass.
