Description

*Italian, Long-Barrel .22 Blank-Firing Magnum-Style Revolver*

An imposing Italian-made blank-firing revolver of the “Magnum” style, measuring approximately 34 cm overall with an 18 cm barrel chambered for .22 blank cartridges. Typical of the large dramatic starter/stage revolvers produced in Brescia from the 1960s–1990s, this example features a six-shot cylinder, solid alloy frame, steel insert barrel, and long vented rib with fixed front sight. The left side is cleanly stamped made in Italy. The revolver retains its original mottled brown plastic grips with star-burst medallions and fine chequering. Cylinder opens via crane and shows the standard blank-firing chamber.

Historical Note:
Following the post-war export boom, Italian manufacturers such as Bruni, Kimar/Chiappa, and smaller Brescia subcontractors became Europe’s primary producers of non-lethal blank-firing revolvers. These long-barrel “magnum theatre pieces” were especially popular with film armourers, dog-trainer suppliers, and athletics clubs. Their exaggerated silhouette and extended barrels offered both reliability and strong visual presence while remaining safely blank-only in design.

*Condition*
Working condition with functional cylinder release and dry-fire action. Finish shows scattered surface marks and areas of light wear from handling and storage. Front sight and muzzle plug intact. Grips remain secure with good chequering; a vertical age-related crack is present to the rear of the right grip panel. General wear consistent with a vintage blank-firing prop. Please see photographs as part of the condition report.
