*Japanese, 1980, Original “Style A” B2 Theatrical Release Poster for Raging Bull, Framed*

An authentic, original Japanese “Style A” B2 theatrical release poster issued for the 1980 Japanese cinema premiere of Raging Bull, directed by Martin Scorsese and starring Robert De Niro in his Academy Award-winning role as Jake LaMotta.

The poster features its classic high-contrast monochrome artwork, centered around the iconic close-up portrait of De Niro. Beneath the main image, supporting portraits of Joe Pesci and Cathy Moriarty are positioned against a stylized New York skyline backdrop.

The upper section displays the bold, original Japanese katakana title text “レイジング・ブル” (“Reijinguburu” / “Raging Bull”) printed in vivid red, alongside De Niro’s name rendered as “ロバート・デ・ニーロ”. A vertical yellow side panel carries a contemporary promotional quote from Newsweek magazine reading “本年最高のアメリカ映画” (“This year’s best American movie”), followed by “ニューズウィーク誌” (“Newsweek magazine”). The lower-left section preserves the complete original Japanese theatrical billing block. This includes Japanese-language cast and production credits, the classic United Artists “A Transamerica Company” logo, Japanese distributor identification for Unite Eiga, and the original Japanese Eirin (Eiga Rinri Kanri Iinkai) theatrical approval certification stamp numbered “55221”. The presence, typography, and precise layout of this boxed “映倫” Eirin mark are fully consistent with authentic theatrical-release printings from the 1980 window.

Presented within a later black frame under glass with a hanging cord to the reverse.

Approximate Measurements: Framed size: . 76.5 cm high x 54.5 cm wide.
