~ Majolica Iris Flower Pottery Jug ~
A late 19th century majolica jug.
Majolica Jugs were widely produced in Europe and America in the second half of the 19th Century, but its roots are much older.
The jug has flower decorations embedded on each side. The flower is purple with yellow paint in the middle which is the same colours as an Iris. Surrounding the flower is three leafs which are painted in pale green and this pattern repeats on each side.
~ Dimensions ~
The jug has a diameter of 5 inches (13 cm) and 6.5 inches (16 cm) including the handle.
The jug has a height of 7 inches (18 cm).
It weighs 690 g.
~ Condition ~
The jug has a couple of small chips to the rim and some wear to the edges of rim and base.
The vase is otherwise free from damages and presents well.
