    Description

~ Original Airfix Model 01068 Box Artwork 1/72 Helicopter MBB BO 105C By James Goulding ~

An unframed original watercolour on board used for the box model artwork of an Airfix model helicopter MBB BO 105C. The original kit was 1/72 scale.

This particular piece was commissioned in 1989 and is of a Helicopter MBB BO 105C in mid flight. It was painted by James Goulding in 1989.

    ~ MBB BO 105C ~

The MBB BO 105C (Messerschmitt-Bolkow-Blohm Bo 105C) is a light, twin engine, multi-purpose helicopter developed by Bolkow of Ottobrunn, Germany. It holds the distinction of being the first light twin-engine helicopter in the world, and is the first rotorcraft that could perform aerobatic manoeuvres, such as inverted loops. The Bo 105 features a revolutionary hinge less rotor system, at that time a pioneering innovation in helicopters when it was introduced into service in 1970. Production of the Bo 105 began at the then-recently merged Messerschmitt-Bolkow-Blohm(MBB).

    ~ Dimensions ~

The board measures 20.5 inches (52 cm) by 14.25 inches (36.2 cm).

    It weighs 330 grams.

    ~ Condition ~

The watercolour is in excellent condition, there are some light marks to the image, the board may have a bit of wear at the edges.
