Introduced in 1942 and used throughout the extent of the war, the M42 helmet is a significant historical artefact that played an important role throughout World War II. This particular variant has a single decal on the left side of the dome depicting the famous, German Reichsadler and was issued for army (heer) use. Inside the left side of the helmet there is a label that reads ‘brought back from the second front – Normandie in 1944 by marine commando Impett’. The name ‘Ohota’ is also featured on the back, inside the helmet.
~ Condition ~
This helmet is in great condition with no significant damage. The liner and chinstrap remain strong and intact. The dome has some loss of finish but markings remain clear. Please see pictures for more detail.
