Description

Joseph Manton (6 April 1766 – 29 June 1835) was a British gunsmith who innovated sport shooting, improved weapon quality and paved the way for the modern artillery shell. Manton was a sport shooter in his own right and a friend of Colonel Peter Hawker. Manton became a very popular maker of guns during his time and today his weapons are some of the most sought-after.

These guns feature elegantly decorated metal and wooden parts along with the name Manton London across the top of the barrel. They make use of the captive ramrod system (though the ramrods have been replaced). The barrel is 7.5 inches long with a total length of approximately 13.5 inches.

*Condition*

Both of the pistols are in excellent condition for their age. They both retain most of their fine details and remain undamaged. Ramrods have been replaced. Please see pictures for more detail.
