This helmet would have been used by the Royal Armoured Corps for the Tank/Armoured vehicle crews. It is similar to the British WW2 Paratrooper helmet, despatch riders helmet and earlier RAC/Tank crew helmets. This particular example has the size and date marked “6 ¾ REM II 1954” on the inside and also features a more recent chinstrap.
