Description

~ Royal Marines Corps Of Drums Presentation Bugle Lamp ~

An unusual presentation piece, that of a lamp formed from a converted bugle given by The Corps of Drums to a Sgt. Pete Bradfield of the Royal Marines.

The piece consists of a bugle mounted on a wooden board which has been converted into a lamp with the bulb and shade attached to the mouthpiece.

The bugle bears the Royal Marines crest to the front which features the Latin motto ‘Per Mare Per Terram’ which translates as ‘By Sea By Land’ and is complete with its tri-colour bugle cords.

There is a small brass plaque attached to the board mount, engraved ‘To Sgt. Pete Bradfield R.M. From The Proud, The Few, The “Corps Of Drums” H.M. Royal Marines Portsmouth’.

The lamp also features a small collection of bullet shells mounted around the light switch button.

~ Dimensions ~

The base board measures 15cm (6 inches) by 36cm (14 inches).

The lamp including shade has a height of 53cm (21 inches).

The piece weighs 2.29 Kg.

~ Condition ~

The piece is in a very good condition with no damages but could do with a good clean and maybe a nice new shade.

The lamp is in working order.*

* The lamp has not been electrically tested. As with all second hand electrical goods, we recommend the purchaser have it tested by a professional before use – we do not offer this service and it is sold on that basis.
