~ Ships Copper Port Side Lantern By J.W. Blake & Sons Of Gosport ~
This corner mounted ships lantern has a copper body. To the side of the lamp is a hinged door, inside is a red electric bulb. The front has two plates one reading "J.W.Blake & Sons, Manufacturers, Gosport” & a “Port” plate.
The electrics have been disconnected but can be easily be rewired by a qualified electrician.
We would date it to the mid 20th century.
~ Dimensions ~
The lantern measures 9.5 inches (24.2 cm) wide by 9.5 inches deep with a height of 21.5 inches (54 cm). It weighs 5 kg.
~ Condition ~
The lantern is in good used condition. There is some oxidisation to the metal which remains fairly clean as expected and some minor dents but it remains in good order. The glass and fittings are all intact. There is no mounting bracket, the door catch works well.
