A series of 50 silver medals by John Pinches for the Royal Air Force Museum commemorating ‘The History of Man in Flight’.
From Leonardo DaVinci’s first scientific studies of flight to the exploration of space, encompassing all forms of aircraft.
Each medal features a fine image of one of the fifty significant events in the history of manned flights with details engraved to reverse.
All are hallmarked for sterling silver, London with a makers mark of ‘JP’ for John Pinches and all date to the mid to late 1970’s.
Each medal is housed in its own capsule and presented in an album.

Each medal has a diameter of 4.4cm and weighs approximately 40g
The album weighs 4.2 Kg
~ Condition ~
The medals are in great condition with no damage.
The outer cover of the album has detached and the album has general light wear throughout though is still in a nice condition.
