~ Rare Moorcroft Pottery Cornflower Pattern Small Vase c.1947-1953 ~
A fabulous and probably unique small vase decorated in the Cornflower pattern, flambé red and blue mottled glaze (probably an experimental glaze).
The underside has an impressed MOORCROFT , MADE IN ENGLAND & Walter Moorcroft full signature mark in blue. Walters full script signature mark was only used on important pieces, one off pieces for exhibition or limited editions.
Possibly this is the only one vase of this type
~ Dimensions ~
The vase stands at 4.75 inches (12 cm). The base and the mouth measuring 2 inches (5 cm) in diameter. The widest point of the vase is 3.25 inches (8.5 cm). It weighs 285 g.
~ Condition ~
The vase is in beautiful condition with a faint hairline to rim, possibly caused from a knock, hardly noticeable.
