~ Vic Smeed Remote Control Model Pond Yacht ~
A Vic Smeed design, remote control model pond yacht.
Vic Smeed was the editor of Model Maker magazine for almost 20 years, having steered the publication through its development to the present day. In a lifetime of model building and model engineering, Vic produced countless original designs for models of all types.
The model has been well built; the superstructure is elegantly designed with smooth flowing lines.
There are two concealed access points to the motor/battery etc., though the battery pack has been removed.
The mainsail is imprinted with ‘8/24’.
The boat comes with purpose built wood stand. The stand has stickers indicating the model has been shown at various boat shows/symposiums around 1995.
~ Dimensions ~
The boat has a length of 92cm (36 inches) and a height of 140cm (55 inches).
It weighs 5.5 Kg (inc. base).
~ Condition ~
The mainsail has a 6 inch tear to the lower edge, a tiny hole to the top and is rather sun-bleached but otherwise in decent condition.
As mentioned, the battery pack has been removed and there is no remote control included.
There are a few chips to the paintwork in parts but overall this fine sailing vessel is in very good condition.
