Description

~ Victorian Royal Navy Warrant Officer Sword ~

The sword comes with its leather and brass scabbard. The grip is black shagreen inside a brass basket bearing the Queens crown above the anchor.
The blade is etched with the name of its Chatham manufacturer/retailer, the Queen’s Crown above the coat of arms on one side and the Imperial Crown above the fouled anchor on the other.

~ Condition ~

As seen in the pictures all gilding is gone from its brass elements.
The blade developed pitting at the top and has some nicks and spots on rust on the edge.
The Scabbard is worn.
The end of the pommel is held in place by a modern crew nut.

~ Dimensions ~

The blade is 31 inches (79 cm) long and the overall length of the piece is 37 inches (94 cm).
