*WW1, Gas Shell Nose Fuze, Relic Condition, Inert*

A First World War period artillery nose fuze, conical form, measuring approximately 17.2 cm in height with a 6.6 cm base diameter. Constructed in alloy with a steel striker element present to the tip. The base thread and lower seating flange are intact. Surfaces show heavy oxidation and ground encrustation consistent with long-term burial.

Historical Note:
This long conical fuze type is most commonly associated with German 77 mm gas projectiles and is broadly similar to tall-profile patterns such as the Zünder 92, C/96, or certain EKZ variants used on Green Cross or Blue Cross gas shells. While the profile and dimensions suggest a German origin, some Austro-Hungarian and French long-nose fuzes are visually similar, so attribution is cautious.

Relic condition with surface corrosion and pitting over all surfaces. Steel striker rusted in place. No visible markings. Please see photographs as part of the condition report.
