This is a battle damaged WW1 German Sniper shield. It has sustained several hits, you can even see the bullet mark from one direct hit. This heavy steel angled edged shield is one of many variants encountered these being well used by the troops with the risk of snipers ever present.

*Condition*
Battle hits have caused the plate to crack but it is still together in one piece. The swivel is fully rusted and the shield bears a degree of surface corrosion. Please see photographs as part of the condition report.
