~ Ladies 9ct Yellow Gold Rolex Admiralty Cocktail Watch c1925 ~
A lovely vintage Rolex Admiralty cocktail watch dated for 1925.
The watch has an octaganol textured dial with Arabic numerals, an outer minutes ring and two steel hands.
The dial is named but the name is so feint that it’s almost impossible to read. The only words visible are ‘Swiss Made’ to the lower edge.
The watch has a 15 jewel manual movement named ‘Admiralty, Swiss Made’.
Movements signed Admiralty are scarcely seen. During World War I and the early 1920s period, Rolex registered several nautical themed names, apparently either not using them, or, as with the Admiralty, only in tiny quantities.
The watch has an octagonal case of 9ct gold with engraved decoration round the bezel and to the sides. It has a hinged back stamped with a serial no. ’11 29651’.
The case is marked to the inside ‘Rolex, 7 World Records, Gold Medal, Geneva-Suisse’
It is hallmarked for 9ct gold, Glasgow, 1925 with a makers mark of ‘RWC Ltd’.
The watch does not come with a strap.
~ Dimensions ~
The watch measures 20mm across the bezel excluding crown.
It weighs 10g.
~ Condition ~
The case is in a very nice condition with only very light wear. The crystal has only a few very light scratches from wear. The dial is reasonably clean and without damage.
The watch is in good working order.
