~ c1971 Tissot Seastar Automatic Gold Plated Wristwatch Engraved Commonwealth Games 1974 ~
A classic circa 1971 Seastar wristwatch by Tissot, complete with original case.
The watch is engraved to the back ‘Commonwealth Games 1974 John Williams from ‘N.T.S.A.C’.
Although we have no provenance we know that one of the cycling team managers had the same name, so it is likely to have been his.
The watch has a gold coloured dial with simple hour markers, two fluorescent tipped hands and a sweeping seconds hand It has a date and day aperture at the six o’clock position.
The dial is named ‘Tissot, Swiss, Automatic, Seastar, Swiss Made’.
The watch has a gold tone/plate stainless steel case and elasticated bracelet.
The automatic movement is named ‘Tissot, Swiss’, has a serial no. of ‘14855267’ and a calibre? No. of ‘2571’.

The dial has a diameter of 2.9cm.
With a width across the case of 3.4cm (3.7cm inc. crown).
The watch and bracelet have a circumference of 18cm (7 inches).
The watch weighs 74g.
The watch and case weigh 180g.
~ Condition ~
There is some wear to the finish, both to the case and bracelet.
The watch is otherwise in good order with no damage and no scratches to the dial.
The watch is in good working order.
The case is in decent order though the hinges at the back have come loose.
