~ WW2 1941 Dated Enfield No2 Mk1* .38 Tankers Revolver with Original Webbing ~
The Enfield No2 Mk1* was introduced in 1938 and remained in production until 1942 when it was replaced by the Mk1**. It is solely a double-action revolver and features a lightened trigger pull and a spurless hammer. The majority of Enfields produced were either Mk1* or modified to that standard. The second variant was the Mk1**, which was a 1942 variant of the Mk1* simplified in order to increase production, however was discontinued shortly thereafter as a result of safety concerns over some of the introduced modifications.
A very well-marked Enfield No2 Mk1*, serial numbered 09672 next to the trigger guard, below the barrel, and on the cylinder.
On the right side of the frame, is the wartime manufacture stamp “DI*”. The D actually combines an E for (E)nfiel(D). The Enfield symbol is also stamped on the frame, trigger and barrel.
On top of the barrel, is an inspector’s mark and a broad arrow service mark. The date “41” (1941) and ammunition type “CAL:38.” are also stamped. There is another proof mark below the spurless hammer.
Stamped on the cylinder is “ESC. 321”, representing the English Steel Corporation along with the batch number.
There are deactivation stamps throughout.
The webbing is made from canvas and the fittings and cleaning rod from brass.
The webbing features a holster with a strap, 6 bullet pockets, and an insert for the cleaning rod. Next to the holster is a larger ammo pouch.
The holster is marked “M. W. & S. Ltd 1955 C. N. 8/0661 L829D”.
The left shoulder strap is marked “E. Co 1941 LONG”.
The right shoulder strap is marked “E. Co 1943 LONG”.
The bindings are marked “1944”.
There are a number of service stamps throughout.

The extractor works and the action cycles.
The revolver has its original wartime finish.
The revolver and webbing are both in excellent condition as seen in the pictures.
