~ JR 21 Toys Thunderbirds Lady Penelope’s FAB 1 Remote Control Car c1960’s ~
An original remote control model of Lady Penelope’s FAB 1 Rolls Royce by J. Rosenthal Toys Ltd.
The toy was produced in the 1960’s to coincide with the Gerry Anderson television show Thunderbirds in which Lady Penelope, her chauffer Parker and the FAB 1 Rolls Royce featured.
The model features a battery-operated remote control (forward and reverse) with steerable front wheels. The battery also powers the working headlights, while the spring-loaded machine guns are also present.
The model comes in its original picture card box.
~ Dimensions ~
The model measures 25.5cm (10 inches) by 10cm (4 inches).
The box measures 10.5cm (4 ¼ inches) by 28cm (11 inches) by 11.5cm (4 ½ inches).
Together they weigh 380g.
~ Condition ~
The car presents well but has some damage and is currently not in working order.
The remote control is missing though the model is still wired up.
There has been some internal damage so the wheels don’t sit properly in place (missing suspension?). One of the wheels also has had some damage and is held in place by means of a metal clip.
The spring loaded action of the machine guns does not work.
There is a crack to the rear bumper and missing tail light.
The roof sits in place but isn’t fixed.
The box has some splits and tears.
