~ Dinky Toys 359 Space 1999 Eagle Transporter – Original Packaging ~
A Dinky Toys die-cast metal model number 359, The Eagle Transporter from the popular Gerry Anderson TV series ‘Space: 1999’.
The model was in production between 1975 and 1981.
In the show the Eagle served as the primary spacecraft of Moonbase Alpha and was used to explore alien planets, defend Moonbase Alpha and to transport supplies and other items to and from the Moon.
The Eagle Transporter features spring suspension and carries a laboratory module pod with opening doors underneath its chassis which can be released by way of a button situated on top of the model.
There were several slight variants of the model; this has clear plastic lab module windows, red side thrusters and metal back engines with red plastic thrusters.
The model comes in its original bubble box with blue card base.
~ Dimensions ~
The model has a length of 23cm (9 inches).
The box measures 14cm (5 ½ inches) by 28cm (11 inches) with a height of 7.5cm (3 inches).
Together they weigh 400g.
~ Condition ~
The model is in a lovely condition with only the odd mark but no damages.
Everything is present and correct with only the sheet of decal stickers missing.
The packaging is in good order. The plastic bubble top has yellowed with age and has some splits but the card base has only light wear.
