~ Ladies 9ct Yellow Gold Cocktail Watch c1927 ~
A ladies 9ct gold cocktail watch dated to 1927.
The watch has a gold case with hinged reverse and has engraved floral/leaf decoration around the edge of the bezel and to the sides.
It features an oval, textured white dial with Arabic numerals, an inner minutes ring and two blued steel hands.
The case back is hallmarked to the back for 9ct gold, Glasgow, 1927. There is also a serial no. of ‘382132’.
The watch has a 16 jewel, Swiss made, manual wind movement.
The watch comes on a ribbon strap with original metal clasp (the ribbon may be original also but we can’t be sure).
~ Dimensions ~
The dial measures 22mm x 12mm.
The bezel measures 16mm across.
The strap is adjustable with a minimum circumference of 14cm (5 ½ inches) and a maximum circumference of 21.5cm (8 ½ inches).
The watch weighs 10.3g.
~ Condition ~
The dial has some dirty marks round the edges but these are mostly covered by the case and overall the dial is reasonably clean and is free from damage.
The case has some scratching to the reverse but is overall in very nice condition, and again is free from damage.
The strap is in decent order and the lugs are undamaged so the strap could easily be replaced with a modern leather strap if desired.
The watch is in working order.
