~ Royal Doulton Character Jug D5531 Tony Weller 1936 – 1942 ~
A wonderfully large character jug in the form of Tony Weller from Charles Dickens’ first novel ‘The Pickwick Papers’.
It was designed by Leslie Harradine and Harry Fenton for the Charles Dickens’ characters series which was issued 1936 – 1942.
The base of the jug has the ‘Royal Doulton, England’ stamp.
~ Dimensions ~
The jug stands at 6 inches (15cm). It has a diameter to the top of 6 inches (15cm) and is 8 inches (20cm) wide including the handle.
It weighs 710g.
~ Condition ~
There is a hairline crack of about 2.5 inches to the base inside, with only 1 inch showing through to the outside. The jug is in otherwise very nice condition.
