~ 1914 Cast Ormulu And Wood Table Lamp From Anthony Fokker To Kaiser Wilheim II ~

The gilt and ormulu corinthian column neo classical lamp was commissioned by Anthony Fokker, the head of the aircraft factory at Johannisthal, near Berlin. It was presented and dedicated to Kaiser Wilhelm II on the occasion of the Kaiser’s 55th birthday on the 27th of January 1914.

The metal parts are of gilt brass. The base, lower lamp column and central ball are of ebonised wood.

A unique and historically important piece.

The lamp is 87 cm (34.75 inches) tall including the shade. The base is 17 cm (6.75 inches) square.
