A British produced 1935 wooden aircraft propeller. The propeller has a varnished finish and is coloured in a cream yellow with black edges and a medium brown hub.
The propeller has an eight hole hub with the following engine information marked on the wood:
The front side of the edge of the hub is marked:
DRG NO D.H. 5238C8 GIPSY VI L.H and is engraved with the military broad arrow and one further marking.
The other edge of the hub is marked:
D6 75 P6 4 MAR 35 A.G. 36554.
The upper side of the hub is marked with the serial number `33554`.
~ Dimensions ~
The propeller has a total length of 82 ½ inches (210cm). The hub has a diameter of 11 inches (28cm) and a depth of 4 ¾ inches (12cm).
This piece weighs 7.74Kg.
~ Condition ~
The item has a large amount of wood worm damage throughout with some chipping to the edge of the tips of the blade but the piece presents well.
